Archive for how to improve communication

Here is another interesting article I recently came across by Dennis Jaylon. Had you ever considered that you could learn how to improve your Communication skill by using the telephone ?

Read on….

Who would not want to create a smart and enchanting persona? And is that possible even on telephones? Yes… It is Possible!

The modern day telephones enable us to do more than we could do with them till some years back. But before we get to that, let us look at some of the features that are there in telephones today  Caller ID (CLIP), Voice Mail, LCD screen, call back facilities and many many more. Plus there are added enhancements to make our conversations crystal clear like  superb sound quality, digital speakerphone, even stylish designs add the zing factor in our messages.

Now coming to the features of modern telephones and how they help us in creating a charismatic and effective personality over the phone.

Let us start with Caller ID or CLIP facility  Caller ID shows us the numbers that are calling us. If the number looks familiar, we can tweak our voice a little to create just the image we have or desire to have in the caller’s perception. For example, if it is from office or from a colleague, you can sound professional and smart. And if it is from a dear one, you can turn down the professionalism and present a softer you.

Then there is ‘Voice Message Recording service’ which enables you to drop a message when the receiver on the other end, is unable to pick up the call. You can record your message by clearly telling your name and the reason for which you called. If you are calling someone who does not know you, you should clearly tell your name (spell it, if required) and leave your contact number. Give a time when you can receive the call back and also give a brief summary for why you called up.

The more clarity you have in your message, the more you create a good impression. And with the help of modern day telephones and their multiple features, utilise all your capabilities to make your mark.

Hi everyone! I’m Japanese and planning to go in New York this December. Along w/ my vacation, I want also to improve my English skills. Can someone advice me some good places to go there or what activity should i do. Thank you.
PS
My English level is just normal communication level.

Konnichiwa :] Watashi wa nihongo ga wakarimasu.

If you meanNew York City, I think you could improve your skills simply by spending a day shopping. Theres alot of speaking involved, if you’re with someone else. If you mean the state of New York in general, then I would suggest getting some kind of tour, in a garden or something to that effect. You could learn something new and improve your speaking skills.

how would this new type of communication, in time, lead to poorer communication? also what are the communication improvements? how these methods have improved todays organisations?

The down side: email can be stagnant. So, the inbox gets full of work to do (just like the inboxes on desks for the last 75 years). But, with email, anyone can put something in your inbox, so it can be full of thousands of things to handle. This bloat creates a gap between us and our technology. Incidentally, the same issues exist with voicemail.

IM is different. Not much of that gets clogged. It does allow for miscommunication, however. Face-to-face or even telephone conversations tend to be more effective for important issues.

The upside: the speed and cost of communication has improved exponentially. It opens programmers in India, manufacturers in China, importers in Mexico, etc. to play on much the same playing field as Fortune 500 in New York.

Partner of 5 years has started getting hyper critical of me shouts and picks on me and discusses me with others. He is refusing to tell me what is going on or why he is acting this way. He mutters things to himself under his breath and when i ask what it is? He snaps. He does not have a mental health problem so could I have an explanation? It hurts me alot.

when my ex began finding fault and picking on me, i too had no idea why. he too refused to talk, or seek help, or go to therapy. my ex never seemed to be mental either. found out later that he had had a girlfriend for some time, and really just did not want to be with me. there is not much u can do unless he is willing. and if he is seeing someone else, he will not be focused on u, or any problems.

My boss barely talks to me, when he does I feel like I am bothering him more than anything. He usually just sends me e-mails.

make him tea or coffee and see how it works from there.

Why Are Communication Skills Important?

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

There are numerous tools that are available to us to create a better live for ourselves and others. The two most powerful and effective tools, however, are our mind and our communication skills.

Because you can create the life you really want by applying your mind the right way and by using your communication skills so that you have all the relationships you wish for.

Now, the question sometimes arises why communication is so important. And rightly so because people usually don’t tell you why they are important, they just tell you that they are. Important.

My answer to this is that I see that the whole of our society is held together by our ability to communicate. Your ability to communicate with your family and loved ones, your friends, your neighbours, with your co-workers, employees and your clients…

Just imagine not being able to express your ideas and your thoughts to another person.

How would it be it you were not able to share your experiences with your loved one?

And just imagine not being able to find solutions to a problem, or not having the skills to guide others and yourself through a crisis.

If you overlook the importance of communication, and the importance of your own ability to take charge of your life, your quality of life will be diminished. Because the quality of your communication is the quality of your life.

Do you not agree that communication skills hold the fabric of your world together? And do you not agree that improving your communication skill level makes sense so that your life becomes more fulfilled for you and everyone you love, such as your family and your friends?

Because our progress as a species, and our success, has always been dependant on our ability to work together, to cooperate, and to communicate.

With your ability to communicate you can face problems and challenges, and you can find solutions to those challenges so that everyone not just feels good about these solutions, they will also cooperate with you in the future. Because they have confidence in you and trust you.

The question about why communication is important is more a question about how much you want to create a life you want to live in, with all those you love and care about. It’s more about how much you want to increase the quality of YOUR life.

And you can start today with improving your communication skills.

Use the language you are trying to learn most often, espcially with people you know that speak your first language and the new language. Practice makes perfect. Watch the news or other shows with English subtitles if you can. As an example your question needs these corrections: What is the best way to improve communication skills? Also tell me the way to improve my spoken English. The way, or ways, but not the ways. Hope that helps you.

i want to improve my communication skill in english but i hv some grammer problem, i think.Tell me best way to improve english communication skill in short time.

Prof Meherbian, a world-renouned expert in Communication skills says we communicate the least by verbal skills!
The facts are :
VERBAL – 7%. TONAL–35%.
BODY LANGUAGE (Non-verbal) — 58% !
So reading will improve your English, no doubt.
But if you want to improve communication skills, watch a movie, paying careful attention not merely to the story but HOW people are communicating!
When we learnt to speak, as kids, we watched our parents, saw their meaning, noted the tone of what they said, how they gestured, what they meant (often unspoken, right?)
In fact, this is how we learn ANY new language.
