Poor speaking skills, poor listening skills, body language and environmental effects are some of the main ones.
Poor speaking skills may be different languages (from another country) or it can just be the type of language that each party uses – one is very technical and the other is not.
Poor listening is when the person being addressed is not really listening to what the speaker is saying and is thinking about what they’re going to say next.
Body language is where someone asks the speaker to tell them more, which would appear to be asking for more communication, but they’re actually sitting back as far as they can with their arms folded defensively across their chest. There are lots of examples of this.
Environment effects comprises anything from the speaker jingling change in his pocket, ladies wearing jewellery that rattles to noises from work in the road outside.
This is an enormous subject but these are a few ideas to start you off.
